Dual
Power Tube Select:
The dual Power
Tube Select allows independent power tube configurations for each
channel.

When the channel
is changed with the footswitch controller the PTS (Power
Tube Selector) for that channel is activated.
This allows for
the possibility of having a different power tube combination for each
preamp channel. Think of it as a dual channel power amp. The power amp
tone can be selected to compliment the preamp tone that’s been dialed
in.
Here are some
examples:
- Channel A could
be set in the V6 mode for a small combo ‘being pushed’ tone
that really sings for leads (think cranked tweed deluxe), and Channel
B could be set in the 34 mode for a big ‘plexi crunch’ rhythm.
- Channel A could be in Quad
mode for a powerful clear clean tone, and Channel B could be in the
V6 mode to achieve a saturated high gain tone.
- Both channels could be set
in the same mode (both V6, or both 34, or both Quad). There are a total
of 9 different combinations with these two switches, of coarse once
you find your favorite sound, just set it and forget it.
V6 :
This setting activates two of the 4 power tubes, the tubes activated
are the 6V6 and the EL84. This dissimilar power tube combination produces
20 watts power output.
34:
This setting activates the pair of El34’s for 30 watts power output.
Quad:
This setting activates all four power tubes for 40 watts power output.
