Stage Hog video and audio samples - Jack Semple sessions:

This is an example of how the Stage Hog can be used for Funk R&B tones. The equipment was dialed in to mimic a live playing situation. The guitar amp was turned up loud enough to hang with a rhythm section. The Stage Hog was set-up to produce the desired rhythm tone and then the Stage Hog's Lead channel was engaged for the solo.
The signal chain for this recording session consisted of a 70's Strat plugged into the Stage Hog, with the Stage Hog's line out going to a Peavey Classic 30. The Classic 30 was close mic'ed with a Shure 57.

The Classic 30 does a fine job of producing a Funk R&B sound. With this in mind the Stage Hog's control were dialed in to add an airy presence and improved touch response to the Classic 30. The solo tone was achieved by engaging the Stage Hog's footswitch lead button. No adjustments were made on the Classic 30 or Stage Hog between the rhythm and lead tracks.

Classic 30 settings:
Only the clean channel was used.
Reverb: 4
Bass: 9
Mid: 6
Treble: 6
Volume: 4

Stage Hog settings:
Tube amp controls:
Scale: Maximum
Gain: 10'oclock
Tone: Maximum
Mid switch: Up position. (This allows for a cleaner rhythm sound with less mids and gain, and increased mids and gain when the Lead channel is selected with the footswitch.)
Bright switch: Down
Voice switch: Down. (This is the darker less gainy sound which I refer to as Tweed mode.)

Line Out controls:
Level: rhythm level going to Classic 30 adjusted to provide no signal boost to Peavey (matched volumes between bypass and on)
Tone: 12:00' oclock
Lead: Lead level going to Classic 30 adjusted to provide a slight volume boost to the Classic 30. (Basically dialed in to simulate a normal live playing situation where the solo tone is a little louder than the rhythm tone.)

This is an example of how the Stage Hog can be used for Country tones. The equipment was dialed in to mimic a live playing situation. The guitar amp was turned up loud enough to hang with a rhythm section. The Stage Hog was set-up to produce the desired rhythm tone and then the Stage Hog's Lead channel was engaged for the solo.

The signal chain for this recoding session consisted of an ASAT G&L guitar plugged into the Stage Hog, with the Stage Hog's line out going to a Reissue Fender Deluxe Reverb.The Deluxe was close mic'ed with a Shure 57.

Deluxe Reverb settings:
The SH was plugged into the Vibrato channel.
Volume: 5
Treble: 5
Bass: 5
Reverb:2

Stage Hog settings:
Tube amp controls:
Scale: Maximum
Gain: 9'oclock
Tone: Maximum
Mid switch: Middle position. This setting has the internal mid boost and preamp boost off in both rhythm and lead modes.
Bright switch: Up
Voice switch: Down. This is the darker less gainy sound which I refer to as Tweed mode.

Line Out controls:
Level: Rhythm level going to Deluxe adjusted to provide no signal boost (matched volumes between bypass and on)
Tone: 1:00 o'clock
Lead: Lead level going to Deluxe adjusted to provide a slight volume boost. Basically dialed in to simulate a normal live playing situation where the solo tone is a little louder than the rhythm tone.
