What We Offer:

• Hand-wired, hand-made tube guitar amplifiers
• A combination of vintage tones and modern features
• Class A Tone
• Made in Canada to high Canadian standards

How We Build:

At Stephenson Amplification we believe in the hands-on approach. Amplifiers are constructed one at a time, with no compromises in quality. There is no assembly line, only careful meticulous attention to detail, every step of the way. Each amplifier is burned in for 24 hours, then played and compared to our reference amplifier. If the new amp sounds as good or better than our reference amp, then it's ready for shipment.

Our goal is not just to sell an amp so it can be added to your collection, but to create a product that can inspire creativity and become an extension of you as a player.

About Mark:

Mark Stephenson has been building and repairing musical equipment for over 20 years. For the last decade, Mark has made a career of helping musicians find their sound, relying on his own experience in both live and studio sound to find the best solutions for each player. He spent 6 years playing guitar in a professional blues/rock band, and countless weekends working as a soundman for other rock bands. Mark owned and operated a 12-track analog recording studio that specialized in band demo tapes, with much of that work heard on FM radio. One project even helped a vocalist get a recording deal, so it's obvious, Mark knows good sound!

It's extremely important to Mark that his amplifiers sound good when recorded, so all his amplifiers are designed to sound fantastic when miked. Circuit design, component selection, and speaker types are all influenced by what it takes to get a great live or recorded guitar sound. Mark believes that the musician should only have to think about entertaining and should feel confident that the guitar sound coming through the PA system is all taken care of. The tone will be great every time through a Stephenson amp.

About the Amps:

Years of repairing all brands and models of guitar amps provided Mark with knowledge of what works and what does not. This experience has allowed us to build a great sounding, reliable amp that will surely be passed on to your grandchildren. Stephenson amplifiers use only the best possible components including:

      • Hand wired eylet boards
      • Ceramic chassis mounted tube sockets
      • Custom made in Canada transformers

Our amplifiers are designed to work with current-production tubes. There will be no need to source out expensive NOS tube types to get great sound, but feel free to try them here. Our amps are "tube friendly", so anything you care to plug in will last longer here than in most mass-produced amps. Our amplifiers are built with quality and pride.
